Common sense rules
We don't apply an age limit for throwing an axe, but players must have the strength and height to be cable of throwing the axe the length of the lane, which is 12 feet.
We charge by the hour, but before the clock starts running, there's a short safety session that includes signing your waivers, reviewing all safety procedures, rules, and participating in and receiving instruction on how to throw an axe.
We require all guests to wear closed toed shoes. Other than that wear whatever makes you comfortable – this is a sporting event, after all! Just remember that if your clothing restricts your arm movement, it’s gonna mess with your aim.
Axe throwing is open only to those age 18 or older. Participants must be willing and able to take responsibility to sign a legally-binding waiver before entering the throwing cage.
Remember...
1. We are throwing axes, not catching them!
2. We ask that you stay outside the cage unless you are one of the throwers.
3. One approved axe per target.
4. No one throws anything if someone is in the lane.
5. Axes do not leave the enclosed throwing area.
6. We want everyone to have fun so if there is anything we can do to make your visit more fun please let us know.
We operate a very controlled environment, so each participant must go through our safety briefing and training session before they step into the cage. If any participants in the throwing lanes are not following the rules, we reserve the right to ask that guest to leave with no refund.
Throwing axes is similar to other target sports. Participants are expected to follow the instructions and safety rules and use common sense to make sure the experience is safe for everyone.
Each and every axe is inspected prior to each session to ensure it is in good condition and free of defects. Throwers are taught to grip the axe by the handle (not the blade!). We make sure the blades of the axes are sharp enough to hit and stick in the target, but don’t worry, we also make sure they are not razor blade sharp.
Plywood and wire fence barriers run along the sides and the top of the lane. Only the two throwers and their axes are allowed inside the lane at one time. Spectators are allowed behind the throwers outside the cage. For very obvious safety reasons, participants are instructed not to cross the throwing line prior to both axes having been thrown at the target.
If you do not follow our safety rules, we reserve the right to terminate your experience before you terminate yourself or someone else.
The hourly rate for our axe throwing lane is $40 for two players, $60 for three players and $80 for four players or more. Any number can take part, and we supply the axes.
We strongly recommend booking ahead by calling 306-786-4653 during our regular business hours, or emailing us using our contact form.
Once you have booked, plan on arriving 15 minutes early so we can review the safety procedures and get the paperwork done -- our lawyer insists you sign a consent form. We will also provide you with a quick lesson on how to throw an axe if required.
